Martial arts training offers far more than physical fitness. Here are just some of the benefits our students experience:
- Improved focus and concentration — especially valuable for school-age children
- Greater confidence — students grow in self-belief as they progress through the grades
- Physical fitness — builds strength, flexibility, coordination, and stamina
- Self-discipline — the values of karate carry over into everyday life
- Self-defence skills — practical techniques taught in a safe, controlled environment
- A sense of community — training alongside others builds lasting friendships
What martial art do you teach in Chester? We teach Shito-ryu Karate, one of the four major traditional styles of karate practised worldwide. It combines powerful techniques with precise form and is suitable for all ages.
What age can children start martial arts? We welcome children from as young as 3.5 years through our Little Warriors programme on Saturday mornings at Upton Village Hall, running from 9:15am to 9:45am.
Do I need any experience to join? No experience is needed. Every new student starts as a white belt and progresses at their own pace. Our instructors will make you feel welcome from your very first session.
Are your instructors qualified? Yes — all of our instructors hold an Enhanced DBS check and are trained to teach students from beginner level through to Black Belt.
Is there a free trial? Yes — your first lesson is completely free with no obligation to continue. Just get in touch to arrange a date.
