Cheshire Dojo


Our commitment to Martial arts training is second to none, as demonstrated by the opening of our own dedicated and fully equipped professional Martial arts studio (which is often referred to as a Dojo in Japanese Martial Arts). Our new Dojo was opened at the beginning of 2009, and is ideally situated between Junctions 7 and 8 of the M53 which gives easy access to the clubs students who are based in Chester, Ellesmere Port and other parts of Cheshire, and The Wirral.


There is also ample free parking at the venue. The Dojo itself has the equipment you would expect of a professional Martial arts studio, such as kick and punch bags, strike shields, focus mitts, blockers, traditional makiwara posts and kobudo weapons. This provision saves our students a considerable amount of money, since there is no need to spend hundreds of pounds buying equipment to train with. The dojo also features a full width mirror to check your form and stances. The training area is fully matted for safe take downs and throws.


These bespoke Karate premises also feature a reception area where you can relax with a drink, chat with friends, read a magazine or watch TV. The reception area also hosts the changing and toilet facilities. In addition, we have our own Martial arts shop where purchases of very reasonably priced karate clothing and accessories can be made. All this ads up to make the venue Cheshire’s premier Martial arts facility.


For students who are based a little further away in the Wirral, we can offer Karate training at the Wirral Tennis and Sports Centre in Bidston, Birkenhead. The ‘Birkenhead Dojo’ is conveniently situated just off Junction 1 of the M53.While the venue is different and not dedicated, the level of tuition and enjoyment is still very high, and we welcome new students to the club and venue.
